Enhancing Gas Turbine Performance in Thailand’s Power Sector
For a power plant in Thailand we delivered three Gas Treatment Stations, complete with monocyclone, coalescer filters and performance heater.
Each unit has a first stage separation by means of a monocyclone with automatic drain system. The second stage consist of a coalescer filter with upstream “open pipe”, enabling the first slug of liquids to be separated before entering the coalescing filters. This will increase the lifetime of the filter elements and therewith decrease OPEX costs.
Level measurement in the filtration vessels is a special design, with separate reflex type level gauges as well as separate level measurement by differential pressure.
We have installed a double tube safety type heat exchanger to increase the performance of the downstream gas turbine. The heater will increase the temperature of the natural gas from 13° to 140° using heated water from another process. Temperature control is done by the TCV in the water outlet system, monitored by pressure transmitters for tube rupture.
